Recorder assignment type: "Fixed" or "per recording"
- Recorder assignment type is set on the Functional Group screen by a LENA user with Admin level permissions.
- All participants in a Functional Group will have the same recorder assignment type.
Fixed assignment type
The recorder will remain assigned to the child after its contents are transferred and processed into reports. The same child can continue to record on this device.
Fixed recorder assignment is ideal for the following types of situations:
- Recorder contents are transferred to the LENA computer during contact visits so that the device can be used again by the same child right away.
- The program has sufficient recorders in inventory for each child served to have one or two recorders assigned.
Per Recording assignment type
The recorder will be unassigned after its contents are transferred and processed into reports. The device is available to be assigned to another child.
Per Recording assignment is ideal for the following types of situations:
- Individual participants record only once, or infrequently/sporadically
- The program does not have sufficient recorders in inventory to support fixed assignments
